Once the study is complete recommendations to improve and maintain surface water drainage systems around Harlow will be considered with the aim of reducing the risks related to surface water flooding in Harlow.
Harlow implement the Health Protection Agency guidelines and developing contingency plans with NHS to reduce the likelihood and potential burden on healthcare resources.
After a domestic fire during the night which spread through the roof spaces of neighbouring properties, 26 people were evacuated to a rest centre while the Fire & Rescue Service and Police dealt with the incident. Harlow DC organised transport to the centre where volunteers from the Harlow HD and Women’s Royal Voluntary Service were on hand to provide blankets, clothing, shoes and refreshments to the evacuated households including a pet dog.
